Keith Foulke signed In Jan. 2004, Theo outbid Billy Beane's Oakland A's to acquire the services of closer Keith Foulke. The deal: three years and about $21 million with an option for 2007 that could push the total as high as $27 million. Foulke was pivotal in getting the Red Sox to their first championship in 86 years in 2004, but was a disaster in 2005.
