With the Red Sox: After the Red Sox signed Mueller in 2003, he had a career year, winning the batting title (.324), hitting 19 homers, and driving in 85 runs. He played sterling defense at third but never won a Gold Glove. He hit .429 and doubled in each of the first three games of the 2004 World Series against the Cardinals.
