June 20: Red Sox 14, Padres 5 Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz was unhappy after one pitch during a lengthy at-bat in the first inning, but his persistence paid off when he singled to drive in the first run of the game. Ortiz worked the count to 3-2, then fouled off a number of pitches before connecting off Padres starter Wade LeBlanc.
