Jonathan Papelbon, RHPThe Sox' fourth-round pick in 2003, Papelbon broke into the majors as a starter in 2005, posting a 2.25 ERA over 16 innings in that role. But it was as a closer where he'd make his name and money. Papelbon saved a franchise-record 219 games in his six season in the role, 87 more than the man in second place, Bob Stanley.
