What if the Red Sox were only homegrown?

It says here that there should be no regrets regarding the November 2005 deal that sent Ramirez, then the Red Sox' top prospect, in a package of players that brought Josh Beckett and Mike Lowell to Boston. Two years later, Beckett and Lowell were fundamental in winning a second World Series in four years. That said, it's also pretty much impossible for a Red Sox fan to avoid daydreaming about what Ramirez, who has a .303 average and 142 homers in six-plus seasons with the Marlins, might have accomplished at Fenway.
