Wednesday's Red Sox-A's game was considered a sellout despite many unused seats throughout Fenway Park, running the team's Major League Baseball record sellout streak to 723 games. Fans have long questioned the validity of the streak based on empirical evidence, but the team has met MLB's definition of a sellout.
The Globe put the streak to the test by sending a correspondent to check the availability of tickets throughout Wednesday's game.
