The Buzz: Red Sox trade possibilities

Ryan Dempster ESPN's Buster Olney reported via Twitter that the Red Sox were interested in the Cubs' starting pitcher, but more recent reports indicate Boston had backed off on Dempster and the Braves are close to a deal for him. Dempster is 5-4 in 15 starts this season and has a 2.11 ERA. Dempster is pricey with a $14 million salary in 2012, but is also in the crosshairs for many teams, Olney said on on the Mike and Mike radio show.
