MOST BELOVED CENTER FIELDER
Ellis Burks
Burks, who spent his first six seasons in Boston, had a big rookie season for the Sox in 1987, hitting 20 HRs with 27 stolen bases. But injuries caught up with Burks as he had shoulder surgery in '89, and suffered from back spasms and bad knees throughout his Sox career. Burks returned to Boston in 2004 as the team's DH. In this Oct. 2004 photo, he carries the World Championship trophy.
