Johnny Damon He played hard, he played hurt, and he answered every question at the end of every game. Damon became a legend in Red Sox Nation. One of the game's best leadoff hitters, Damon scored 100 runs every season between 1998-2006. In this Oct. 20, 2004 photo, Damon hit a second-inning grand slam during Game 7 of the ALCS in Yankee Stadium, helping launch the Sox into the World Series. Damon left the Bronx to join the Yankees after the 2005 season and will return to Fenway this year as a member of the Tampa Bay Rays. ( Damon's stats and facts )
