The powerful Cooper was drafted by the Sox in 1968 and was the first baseman/DH for six seasons in Boston (1971-76). In Dec. 1976, Coop was traded to the Brewers for George Scott and Bernie Carbo. He went on to become a five-time All-Star with the Brewers, batting over .300 for seven straight seasons. In a 17-season career, Cooper batted .298 with 241 homers and 1,125 RBIs.
