MOST BELOVED RELIEVER
Bill Campbell
In the days leading up to Valentine's Day, we ask you to pick the most beloved Sox player at each position (1967-present).
"Soup" Campbell was the first high-profile free-agent signing in Red Sox history when he came to Boston in 1977. The All-Star saved 31 and won 13 games in '77, winning the AL Fireman of the Year Award. He developed arm trouble in '78, and never dominated again. (Campbell's stats and facts) (Globe File Photo)
