MOST BELOVED RIGHT FIELDER
Tony Conigliaro
In the days leading up to Valentine's Day, we ask you to pick the most beloved Sox player at each position (1967-present).
Tony C (left), a 1962 graduate of Saint Mary's in Lynn, burst onto the Sox scene in '64. At age 22 in '67, he became the youngest AL player to reach 100 HRs. That August, he was hit by a wild pitch and suffered severe damage to his eye. In '69, he was Comeback Player of the Year, but damage to his sight forced him to retire in '75.
