Brunansky, a dependable power-hitter for the Minnesota Twins for most of the 1980s, came over to the Red Sox from the Cardinals in a 1990 trade that saw closer Lee Smith leave town for St. Louis. With the tying runs on base and the Sox holding a 3-1 lead over the White Sox in the final game of the 1990 season, 'Bruno' (pictured here on left with Jack Clark), made a spectacular diving catch in Fenway's right field corner to end the game, clinching the American League East title for the Sox.
