Clell Lavern "Butch" Hobson played third for the Red Sox from 1975-80. In ‘77, Hobson had his best season when he set Red Sox season records for a third baseman with 30 homers and 112 RBIs… while batting ninth in the order. In an eight-year career, the hard-nosed Hobson batted .248 with 98 HRs and 397 RBIs. He later became manager of the Sox. (Hobson's stats and facts)
