The professional hitter was a quintessential dirt dog and a solid fielding third baseman. In the 2003 season, Mueller won the AL batting title with a .326 average. He also set career highs with 45 doubles and 19 homers. Nearly half of his career home runs came during his three years with Boston. Mueller also hit .429 vs. the Cardinals in the 2004 World Series.
