Clemens had another dominant season in 1990, going 21-6 with a league leading 1.93 ERA and 209 strikeouts. He came in second in Cy Young balloting to Oakland's Bob Welch (27-6), despite striking out 82 more batters and having an ERA that was more than a run lower.
