Rex Bryant Sr. of Sandwich and granddaughter Lyric Patricia Bryant of Hyannis saw the trophy together at the Yarmouth House Restaurant. Lyric was born Sept. 17, 2004. Rex Jr. and Sr. had tickets to see the Sox play that night in the Bronx; because of Lyric's early arrival, they had to cancel the trip, but they said it was all worth it. Rex Sr. wrote, "First grandchild and the World Series Championship in the same year; it doesn't get any better than that."
