Kevin Garnett's 20-foot jumper as time expired gave the Minnesota Timberwolves a 96-94 victory over the the Clippers yesterday in Los Angeles.
Garnett's shot from the left wing over Elton Brand capped a fourth quarter rally by the Timberwolves, who trailed, 83-68, with just over eight minutes remaining.
Garnett made two free throws with 1:10 to play and Sam Cassell scored on a runner in the lane with 30.4 seconds left, tying the game at 94.
Corey Maggette then missed a short jumper, Minnesota's Fred Hoiberg got the rebound and the Timberwolves called a timeout with 5.8 seconds to play, setting the stage for Garnett.
Latrell Sprewell led the Timberwolves with 27 points. Garnett had 24 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists, and Cassell added 24 points and 10 assists.
Maggette led the Clippers with 26 points and 8 rebounds.
Grizzlies 93, Trail Blazers 79 -- Bonzi Wells scored 16 points against his former Portland teammates, helping host Memphis coast to victory. Pau Gasol had 17 points and 12 rebounds, and Mike Miller also scored 17 points for Memphis, which acquired Wells last week in a trade.
Portland was led by Zach Randolph with 29 points and 13 rebounds.
Raptors 108, SuperSonics 98 -- Vince Carter scored 30 points and Chris Bosh had 22 points and 16 rebounds, leading host Toronto to its fourth straight victory. Jalen Rose added 18 points and 10 assists for the Raptors, who improved to 4-0 since acquiring Rose, Donyell Marshall, and Lonny Baxter from Chicago.
Carter had 20 points and five assists in the second half. Rashard Lewis and Vladimir Radmanovic each had 20 points for Seattle.

Brian Cardinal had 19 points and a career-high eight rebounds, leading seven Warriors who scored in double figures in Golden State's 104-92 win over the New York late Saturday night in Oakland, Calif.
