Knee problem has Iverson concerned

Allen Iverson could be sidelined until January with a swollen right knee and said he wishes the Philadelphia 76ers would put him on the injured list. Iverson missed two of the team's last three games and said he thinks he'll miss the 76ers' West Coast trip that starts Dec. 26 . . . Chicago Bulls center Eddy Curry will miss 2-4 weeks because of a bone bruise on his left knee . . . Jason Kidd declined to speak to the media for the first time in his three seasons with the Nets, a dispute stemming from New Jersey's 47-point loss to Memphis Saturday when reporters overheard and reported his closed-door tirade in the locker room . . . Gregg Popovich, who coached the San Antonio Spurs to NBA championships in 1999 and last season, signed a two-year extension through 2007-08 . . . The Edmonton Oilers traded the rights to restricted free agent Mike Comrie to the Philadelphia Flyers for minor leaguer Jeff Woywitka and two draft picks . . . Former Maple Leafs defenseman Rob Ramage was charged with impaired driving causing death in a three-car crash in Toronto Monday in which former Blackhawks defenseman Keith Magnuson was killed. Paerson continues to dominate slalom

Sweden's Anja Paerson won a slalom at Madonna Di Campiglio, Italy for her fourth victory this season, extending her lead in the overall World Cup standings to 164 points . . . Norwegians dominated World Cup cross-country sprints, with Jens Arne Svartedal winning the men's 1,500 meters and Marit Bjoergen taking the women's 1,500 at Passo Di Lavaze, Italy . . . The New England Revolution promoted Craig Tornberg to general manager . . . Frank Yallop resigned as coach of the San Jose Earthquakes to become coach of the Canadian national soccer team . . . Williams senior linebacker Graham Goldwasser was named to the Division 3 All-America team . . . NASCAR's NEXTEL Cup races at New Hampshire International Speedway in Loudon will be July 25 and Sept. 19 next year . . .
