Detroit shocked by Mystics

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- Chamique Holdsclaw made four free throws in the final minute and finished with 16 points and 14 rebounds yesterday, leading the Washington Mystics to a 65-63 victory over the Detroit Shock.

Alana Beard added 16 points for Washington, which snapped a two-game losing streak.

Detroit has blown second-half leads in each of the last three games.

The Shock led, 61-59, with a minute remaining when Beard tied the game with a jumper.

The Shock did not score on their next possession, but Holdsclaw made two free throws to give Washington a 63-61 lead with 28 seconds remaining.
