Katie Douglas scored 19 points and Taj McWilliams-Franklin added 17 to lead the Connecticut Sun to an 86-72 win over the last-place Chicago Sky last night in Uncasville, Conn.
Connecticut (16-6) dominated inside with the tandem of McWilliams-Franklin and 7-foot-2-inch Margo Dydek. McWilliams-Franklin had a team-high eight rebounds and Dydek finished with 12 points, 4 blocked shots, and 6 boards. The Sun's 29 defensive rebounds fueled their uptempo transition game as they piled up their points from fast breaks.
Rookie Erin Phillips, starting in place of an injured Nykesha Sales, had a career-high six assists for the Sun. Sales missed her fourth straight game because of a sore hip and Achilles' tendon.
