Sonics snap losing streak

Kevin Durant scored 26 points, including the go-ahead jump shot with 32.6 seconds remaining and host Seattle stunned the defending NBA champion San Antonio Spurs, 88-85, last night to end a team-record losing streak at 14 games.

Durant swished an open shot created by a screen from Kurt Thomas, whose consecutive open jumpers had given Seattle an unlikely lead with 90 seconds to go. Luke Ridnour hit a free throw with 12 seconds left before Manu Ginobili, who had 29 points, missed a leaning 3-pointer with 4.9 seconds remaining that would have tied it.

Lakers 120, Knicks 109 - Kobe Bryant had 24 points, 11 rebounds, and 8 assists and Sasha Vujacic scored 12 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter to aid host Los Angeles's rally.

The Lakers trailed, 99-91, when Vujacic made a pair of 3-pointers to get them going. A jumper by Bryant with 5:07 left snapped a 104-104 tie and put Los Angeles (28-15) ahead for good.

Nets 87, Bucks 80 - Jason Kidd scored of 7 of his 9 points in the final 1:42 and added 11 assists as host New Jersey snapped a nine-game losing streak.

Richard Jefferson scored 20 points and Vince Carter had 16 points and matched a season high with 12 rebounds for the Nets.

Wizards 108, Raptors 104 - Andray Blatche had 19 points and eight rebounds filling in for the injured Caron Butler and Antawn Jamison added 24 points and 20 rebounds, leading host Washington to an overtime victory.

Chris Bosh led the way with 37 points and 12 rebounds for the Raptors. Anthony Parker's 3-pointer at the buzzer forced the extra period.

Pistons 110, Pacers 104 - Rasheed Wallace had 24 points and 10 rebounds to lead visiting Detroit past Indiana.

Bulls 96, Timberwolves 85 - Kirk Hinrich finished with 27 points after a rough start to lift Chicago at the United Center.

Rockets 111, Warriors 107 - Yao Ming scored 8 of his 36 points in the final 2 1/2 minutes and had 19 rebounds to help Houston tame visiting Golden State.

Suns 125, Hawks 92 - Amare Stoudemire scored 22 of his 24 points in the first half and host Phoenix rolled over Atlanta.
