Rasheed Wallace had 25 points and 13 rebounds, Allen Iverson added 25 points and the Detroit Pistons handed the Lakers their first loss of the season, 106-95, last night at Los Angeles.

Kobe Bryant scored 29 points for the Lakers, but went 12 of 30 from the floor.

The Lakers (7-1), who were outscoring opponents by an average of 18 points, were the only team in the NBA without a defeat.

The Pistons have dominated the Lakers recently, going 8-2. Their defense on Bryant has been a key, with Detroit holding him to 20 or fewer points in five of the last nine meetings. He had 17 through the first three quarters last night, when the Pistons built a big lead.

76ers 94, Pacers 92 - Thaddeus Young had 25 points and 10 rebounds and Philadelphia overcame a 26-point deficit at Indiana.

Andre Miller added 19 points, Elton Brand had 14 points and 15 rebounds, and Andre Iguodala finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds for the 76ers (4-5). Philadelphia snapped a three-game losing streak against the Pacers.

Knicks 116, Thunder 106 - Jamal Crawford and Zach Randolph each scored 29 points, combining for 10 in the final four minutes after host New York had blown most of a 30-point lead, and the Knicks held on to beat Oklahoma City.

Nate Robinson made his first five shots, giving him 13 in a row over two games, and Randolph had 19 rebounds in his seventh straight double-double. But seemingly headed to their second straight lopsided victory, the Knicks saw their huge cushion cut to 7 before Crawford and Randolph bailed them out.

The Knicks are off to their best start since also going 6-3 in 1998-99.

Suns 97, Kings 95 - Shaquille O'Neal tied a season high with 29 points and had 13 rebounds and 6 assists to help shorthanded Phoenix down host Sacramento.

Amare Stoudemire was the star in overtime for the Suns. He had 6 points, including the winner, and blocked a shot at the buzzer to seal it.

Heat 97, Wizards 77 - Dwyane Wade scored 24 points before taking the fourth quarter off, and Miami held visiting Washington without a field goal for nine minutes in the second half on the way to an easy victory.

Michael Beasley scored 19 points for Miami (5-4), which needed 20 games to hit the five-win mark last season.

Bobcats 104, Jazz 96 - Raymond Felton scored 23 points, Gerald Wallace added 22, and host Charlotte held off Utah.

Carlos Boozer had 26 points and 15 rebounds for the Jazz, who committed 20 turnovers.

Magic 102, Mavericks 100 - Rashard Lewis scored 23 points, including the tying and go-ahead points on free throws with 10.9 seconds left, to give visiting Orlando the victory.

The Magic trailed for all but a few seconds over the first 45-plus minutes, but clutch baskets by Jameer Nelson and a pair of tough 3-pointers by Mickael Pietrus put Orlando ahead.

Nets 115, Hawks 108 - Devin Harris, back in the lineup after missing three games because of a sprained left ankle, scored 30 points to lead host New Jersey.

Hornets 87, Trail Blazers 82 - David West scored 18 points and James Posey hit two 3-pointers - New Orleans's only baskets in the last 8:30 - to help the Hornets beat visiting Portland.

Spurs 77, Rockets 75 - Tim Duncan scored 22 points and blocked Aaron Brooks's layup with a second left in host San Antonio's victory.

Bucks 101, Grizzlies 96 - Ramon Sessions had 20 points, including a pair of free throws that put visiting Milwaukee ahead with 42.6 seconds left in overtime, and the Bucks held on.
