Dwight Howard had 22 points and 17 rebounds, Vince Carter added 21 points, and the Orlando Magic thumped the Atlanta Hawks, 93-76, on the road last night.

The Hawks, attempting to tie Phoenix for the best record, dropped to 11-4. They missed a chance to improve to 8-0 at home for the first time since 1993-94.

Orlando grabbed its sixth win in seven games.

Atlanta, which has dropped two straight following a seven-game winning streak, blew a 14-point lead after Joe Johnson (22 points) banked in a jumper to begin the third quarter.

Greg Oden scored 18 points for the host Portland Trail Blazers, who beat New Jersey, 93-83, Wednesday night, moving the Nets closer to the NBA record (17) for the worst start by losing their 15th straight game.

Donte Greene made six 3-pointers and tied a career high with 24 points as the Sacramento Kings took a 117-97 home victory over the New York Knicks Wednesday.
