Doc Rivers’ biggest accomplishment: Early juggling act
It’s no secret that Doc Rivers has done a great job with what he’s been dealt. Losing Rondo could not have been easy, and the team’s 7-game win streak without him might be the best-coached run of the year by any team. But while the streak was impressive, the more impressive feat from Rivers was to keep some of his players interested when they weren’t winning. It started early in the season when Rivers inspired Jared Sullinger to early success while not letting Brandon Bass get too down. Rivers kept Courtney Lee and Jason Terry motivated despite trips in and out of the starting lineup, and the two are now playing some of their best basketball. It’s not what you do in the moment, it’s what you do to get to that point.
