The Sacramento Kings are interested in trading for Wolves forward Kevin Love even if Love gives no assurance of signing a long-term deal with Sacramento. From Yahoo! Sports’ Marc Spears:

The Kings are willing to give up their eighth overall pick in this year's NBA draft and a combination of players for Love, even though he would not be expected to sign a contract extension before next season -- if ever, with the rebuilding, small-market franchise, the source said. Sacramento envisions Love and DeMarcus Cousins playing alongside each other in the front court. Swingman Rudy Gay has a player's option for next season.

Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge also said last week he would be willing to trade for a player in the final year of his contract.

“I would contemplate that, yes,” Ainge said on the Toucher & Rich show. “It would depend on the player and the risk, but sometimes you need to take some risks.”

The Lakers, Rockets, Warriors, Knicks, and Bulls are all thought to be in play for Love.
