BOSTON—A new banner is hanging from the Statehouse to commemorate the Celtics drive to win their 17th NBA world championship.

Reading "Think Big," the banner was unfurled Thursday during a brief ceremony before a small crowd led by Gov. Deval Patrick. Joining him on the Statehouse steps were Celtics great Jo Jo White, owners Steve Pagliuca and Robert Epstein, as well as players Leon Powe and Brian Scalabrine.

"We are proud of what you have done and will do," the governor said.

The team takes on the Atlanta Hawks in the first round of the playoffs starting Sunday night.
