The initial estimate for Kevin Garnett's absence from the Celtics' lineup was two to three weeks. But even though Garnett was hoping to play Friday, the three-week mark since he strained a right knee muscle, he likely will remain out past that game against Memphis, coach Doc Rivers said before Boston lost to Orlando, 86-79, yesterday.
