Rasheed Wallace is not expected to decide on the Celtics’ contract offer for at least a week. The Celtics sent Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, and Paul Pierce, president of basketball operations Danny Ainge, and managing partner Wyc Grousbeck to Wallace’s home in suburban Detroit for a three-hour meeting Thursday.

Wallace will meet with other teams next week. Orlando and San Antonio could offer him a starting position, which the Celtics won’t do. Charlotte is also interested in Wallace, who owns a home in North Carolina.

Meanwhile, Stephon Marbury said he will likely not return to the Celtics after being offered the veterans’ minimum of $1.3 million. Marbury said his representative, Hal Biagas, told him about the Celtics’ offer Thursday night. Marbury said three other teams are interested in his services.

Despite being disappointed in the Celtics’ offer, Marbury said he appreciated getting an opportunity to play again.

“Thank you Boston for allowing the world to see me play again after all that went on in N.Y.,’’ Marbury wrote in an e-mail to the Globe. “The fans treated me with open arms and that’s all anyone can ask for.’’
