Shaq’s sleigh makes rounds
If Shaquille O’Neal spent as much time playing basketball as he does making paid appearances and pulling goofy publicity stunts, the Celts might be undefeated. One day after subbing for Keith Lockhart and conducting the Pops at Symphony Hall, the Big Shamrock was at the Franciscan Hospital for Children delivering gifts donated by SBLI employees. The big man was joined by SBLI CEO Robert Sheridan and Suffolk Construction’s John Fish, whose company donated DVD players and movies for kids in Franciscan’s mental-health program. During the visit, Korey Foley, 17, of West Roxbury, a student at Kennedy Day School who uses an electronic voice device to speak, asked Shaq his opinion of Bostonians. Shaq leaned over and pushed the button that made it say “nice,’’ prompting smiles all around.![]()
