Every Sunday, Boston Globe photographer Stan Grossfeld asks the subject of one of his photos to explain what’s happening in the shot.

Who's up today: Celtics center Greg Stiemsma blocks the shot of Dexter Pittman of theMiami Heat at TD Garden, April 1, 2012

Stiemsma: “We know they are a talented team and we have to match their intensity. We played the style we wanted to play all night. Pittman got the dump-off and I came over to the weak side and blocked it and pinned it off the backboard. They all kind of run together. I’ve been pretty fortunate to get some opportunities to block some shots. I feel I’ve got a pretty good feel for it right now. [Kevin Garnett] is always encouraging. KG always says do the little stuff because that’s what it takes to win, so any time I can step in and do that, it really helps. Sometimes I hear the crowd, if it’s on a fast break, but usually I’m too into what’s going on on the court. I’m humbled [being compared to Bill Russell by Tom Heinsohn]. It’s an honor for anybody to have. Especially since I will do my best to accomplish 1/100th of what he did. Being 26 and still being a rookie and coming into this locker room with all that experience around you makes you feel young real quick.’’
