Pierce's take

Celtics captain Paul Pierce said the team had looked forward to Wednesday’s game against the Bucks as a chance to end Boston’s franchise-record losing streak.

“We definitely eyed this game,” said Pierce. “Milwaukee had a lot of pieces missing so we were going to try and take advantage of that. They’re missing a lot of key guys.

“(It’s important) with what type of road we got ahead of us, with the West Coast swing, knowing that we could have easily been in that other zone where people were talking about breaking the NBA record for most losses.”

Pierce said the Celtics tempered their postgame celebration.

“We’re not going to get in complete celebration,” he said. “It’s only our 13th win of the season at the break.”

Celtics forward Al Jefferson agreed.

"There was no celebration," said Jefferson. "Even though we won the game and broke the streak, we got a long way to go. It felt good to get that win but it's not like we won a championship."
