Celtics, 49-45 (half)

Posted by Gary Dzen, Boston.com Staff April 18, 2007 08:32 PM

Al Jefferson has 12 points and eight rebounds and Allan Ray has 13 points as the Celtics have taken the lead at halftime.

  • Rajon Rondo makes plays not many players can make. With 7:56 left in the half, Gerald Green bounced a pass to Rondo, who was standing underneath the basket. It was a bad pass, but Rondo stretched his arm out of bounds while keeping his feet in and knocked the ball off Pistons center Antonio McDyess. It was Gumby-esque.

  • A couple of rogue Pistons fans have been intermittently calling out cheers for their team. No one at the Garden seems to be paying much attention to them.

  • Theo Ratliff and Wally Szczerbiak are in the house for the season finale. Welcome back, fellas.

  • Sebastian Telfair played 13 minutes in the first half and did not score. No word yet on whether the Celtics still plan to hold a “Big Sebastian Telfair Night at the Garden.”
