In response to a question about Boston’s point guard situation and the status of Sebastian Telfair (the Celtics also have Rondo and the rookie Pruitt on their roster), Ainge directed the query to Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck:

“Sebastian and I talked after I talked to him [the first time, following a gun charge],” said Grousbeck. “He’s on the roster. It’s a long time until November. We’ll see what happens.”

  • Grousbeck also had the quote of the night at the Garden. The Celtics owner walked out of the locker room following the press conference and was handed a bag of athletic socks with NBA logos:

“I went to the draft and all I got was a bag of socks,” Grousbeck joked.
