Welcome to the Garden, where the press conference introducing Kevin Garnett is about to get underway.

Garnett is delayed in his arrival at the Garden. The newly acquired Celtics forward is still at the hospital completing his physical.

Paul Pierce arrived to Legends, on the Garden’s third floor, at about 5:50 p.m. Pierce wore a smile and said, “Let’s get the party started,” before being ushered into a room where he, Ray Allen, Danny Ainge, and Doc Rivers are waiting until the press conference begins.

Being at legends, this event is open to a few familiar season-ticket holders. We’re talking front row.

The refreshments are limited. A couple of bowls of pretzels and bottled water are all that’s being offered. That Garnett contract extension must be a doozey.

There's about 100 people in attendance here and about 20 news cameras. We’re wirelessly challenged, so we’ll check in with updates as often as we can.
