Davis deal near
Posting for the Globe's Marc Spears:
Boston Celtics second-round pick Glen Davis is in strong negotiations with the franchise and could have his deal done as early as this weekend.
Davis has been working out with the Celtics in Waltham since the beginning of August. But his deal is imminent and should be taken care of soon. The 35th selection overall in the June draft, Davis averaged 12 points and 9.8 rebounds per game in five contests during summer league play.
