Nets super intern

Posted by Marc J. Spears, Globe Staff November 13, 2007 04:26 PM

No one can question whether Matt Hierschhorn is taking pride in his internship with the Nets. Last Saturday, he went to a New York City hotel to drop off a package that included my Nets-Celtics game credentials. A man dressed in civilian clothes approached Hierschhorn and said he knew me, worked for the hotel and he would take the package. A suspicious Hierschhorn declined the man's invitation and said he would drop it off at the front desk insead. As Hierschhorn tried to walk away, the odd man tried to steal the package. The brawny Hierschhorn, however, was too strong for the weirdo, who eventually gave up and took off for a cab. The package was safe and sound for my pickup once I arrived at my hotel, but I didn't know about the intern's heroics until after the game. Thanks Super Intern!
