Scalabrine wants in

Posted by Marc J. Spears, Globe Staff November 1, 2007 02:14 PM

Brian Scalabrine today said he expects to play in the Celtics season opener on Friday night at home against the Wizards despite being hampered by a strained right big toe.

Today at practice Scalabrine wore a protective boot as a precautionary measure to take the pressure off of his toe.

The Celtics will be without James Posey, who was suspended for one game for violating league rules.
