The Celtics had a two-point lead at halftime, but they opened an advantage with a 12-0 run midway through the third quarter. They pushed the lead to 19 points by the end of the quarter.

Paul Pierce made two three-pointers during the 12-0 run. Rajon Rondo made a driving lay-up at the 8:12 mark to give the Celtics a nine-point lead and force the Bucks to call a timeout. A Kendrick Perkins lay-up made it 60-49 and gave the Celtics their largest lead to that point.

The Celtics continued to pour it on, and a floater by Rondo pushed the lead to 68-53 with 5:07 remaining. Rondo had 9 points in the quarter and currently has 17 points and 7 assists.

Pierce is leading the Celtics with 26 points.

  • There was an ‘MVP’ chant going through the rafters while Kevin Garnett was at the free throw line. Wouldn’t be a bad pick at all at this point in the season.

  • Pierce and Milwaukee’s Bobby Simmons were assessed double technical fouls at the 2:35 mark. Pierce made a three-pointer on the next possession and continued jawing at Simmons.
