Not just bench-warmers

Posted by Gary Dzen, Boston.com Staff December 14, 2007 10:52 PM

Kendrick Perkins sticks up for his boys.

"Our bench is underrated, in my opinion," Perkins said after watching Tony Allen shut down Milwaukee's Michael Redd. "We got great guys coming off the bench that could be starters anywhere else. The key is guys accept their roles. Doc [Rivers] puts them in the right position so they can be effective and we just role from there. Everyone is pretty much focused on one goal and that helps a lot. You don’t have guys with individual goals. Everybody is focused on one goal.”
