Raptors, 57-55 (half)

Posted by Gary Dzen, Boston.com Staff January 23, 2008 08:35 PM

The Raptors caught fire in the second quarter and have taken a halftime lead over the Celtics.

Led by Jose Calderon, Toronto has hit 6-of-8 three-pointers in the game. Calderon has 16 points and 5 assists. Andrea Bargnani has 12 points and 7 rebounds. The Raptors are shooting 58 percent.

The quarter started out positively for the Celtics. Paul Pierce stayed in with the second unit as Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen took a breather, and the Celtics extended a one-point lead to 38-30 before Allen came back in at the 9:07 mark in the half.

Tony Allen, who was instrumental in that run, has 14 points off the bench for Boston. He’s gotten most of his points off the dribble or in the post.

Things are set up for an entertaining second half.

  • The little girl who was sitting on the floor right next to the court has moved. I know you’re all relieved.
