Spurs moving in
Defending world champion San Antonio Spurs appears to be the front runner in the Damon Stoudamire sweepstakes.
The veteran point guard was let go by the Memphis Grizzlies after the two parties agreed to the terms of a buyout.
The Celtics, Raptors and Suns all have interest in Stoudamire, who will be an unrestricted free agent at 6 P.M. EST Wednesday assuming he clears waivers as expected. Rumors, however, continue to persist that the Celtics have interest in Clippers guard Sam Cassell, but they have no way of acquiring via trade.

Cassell is the best answer for veteran back up point guard for the team. In order for Celtics to truly compete jhowever they need to allow Rondo to be the primary point guard to gain experience that in the long run will best position him to be the #1 point guard for a championship run!
I think that the celtics can use damon,at the same time he's small. And i think that will pose a problem if boston plays the pistons. For them to get sam cassell it gives them size, experience(playoffs, championship)and outside shooting but getting him may be a problem. But if they are not able to get either one of them troy hudson is now a free agent.
