KG Not Likely for All-Star Game
From the Globe's Marc J. Spears . . .
Celtics coach Doc Rivers said before today's game against the Spurs that injured forward Kevin Garnett is likely out for next Sunday's All-Star Game. Rivers said the Celtics will be contacting the league soon to give them the information, meaning that Commissioner David Stern will soon be naming a replacement. Ray Allen is a likely choice and Rivers repeated yesterday that he would like Allen on the team. Garnett did jog today before the game and could take part in light practicing as early as tomorrow. Meanwhile, he missed his seventh game today with an abdominal strain. Also out for Boston - center Kendrick Perkins with a strained left shoulder and his return date is uncertain. The Spurs were without Tony Parker and Brent Barry, neither of whom was on the trip.
