Rondo's highlight

Posted by Gary Dzen, Boston.com Staff March 26, 2008 10:42 PM

Rajon Rondo (14 points, 6 assists) held Suns point guard Steve Nash (12 points, 9 assists) to a veritable standstill statistically in tonight’s win.

“I just wanted to make Steve play defense on the opposite end,” said Rondo. “I made a couple shots early, then I missed a couple, but I went back to it and still made my shots.”

One shot in particular had the Garden crowd with its collective jaw on the floor, as Rondo juked Nash and got around him for a highlight-reel layup.

“I just did an in-and-out,” said Rondo. “And he went for it.”

Rondo acknowledged he heard the crowd celebrate his move.

“Yeah I [heard it],” he said. “I was just trying to get back on defense because [Boris] Diaw got the ball out quick…it’s exciting. I try to do things to excite the fans, but also make the right play.”
