Sixth man award

Posted by Marc J. Spears, Globe Staff April 21, 2008 03:36 PM

Celtics forward James Posey finished in eighth place in the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year award voting and received three first-place votes, 10 second-place votes and 19 third-place votes while San Antonio’s Manu Ginobili won the award. Hawks forward Josh Childress finished in seventh-place. “I’m just doing my role the best I can,” Posey said. “It’s all about winning. It’s not about numbers.”

  1. Minor error here- Posey got 3 second-place votes and 10 third-place votes for a total on 19 votes.
