  1. I can't wait for the celtics to win their 17th championship banner this year they deserve it and they are gonna beat the living cheap out of the Hawks. I love watching KG play for the celtics he is so much fun to watch, Big Baby is a good defensive player so isn't Leon Powe and I don't want the celtics to play washington in the playoffs at all they beat us 3-1 in the regular season. GOOD CELTICS WIN NUMBER 17TH

  1. 2 weeks to finish a 7 game series? WTF?

    Posted by Billbo April 17, 08 10:19 AM
  1. I wish I could hear more of Celtics broadcasts with Mike & Tommy. They are both fans/ and Tommy (hall of fame). Please replace the TNT broadcast with CSN. The whole nation needs to hear how fun Tommy is. I live in NY and I only hear them maybe 2x a year on NBA TV. Celtics are going all the way.

  1. This is why the NBA playoffs are unpopular... two weeks for a first round series. Two Weeks!

  1. That's not unusual Billbo. I'm surprised they're leaving less that three days between some of these games. The NBA playoff schedule is always like this.

  1. I agree with Billbo

  1. Hey Boston,

    Come on down to the dirty and take us lightly. That is EXACTLY what we want you to do. As for our record. check this, added Mike Bibby = can't double Joe Johnson, Gotta love it!
    Can u say Al Horford (rookie of the year) Oh and better watch young Josh Smith. Enjoy your record this year because ATL Hawks+ Big man next year = NEW MONSTER in the east !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (See ya Sunday)

  1. Win it all big three

    Posted by Daniel Sumpter April 17, 08 09:53 PM
  1. I like the two week schedule it gives older guys time to rest. If we sweep we could really get some time to rest the big 3. all season they said the celts might be worn out due to many minutes, not gonna happen with this schedule.

  1. 2 weeks to finish a 4-game sweep?

  1. I don't understand why there are 2 days off in between most of the games. RIDICULOUS

    Posted by Chris M April 18, 08 01:05 AM
  1. They need time to let their bodies rest and train properly in between games. But you must be in much better shape than the Celtics, Billbo...

  1. People, stop complaining. The NBA playoffs are like this every year. Why are you shocked? They try to get every game on tv, that is nothing to complain about. If they didn't, and they didn't show a team you wanted to see, you would complain about that. So just sit back and enjoy the show.

    Posted by N2thaIzzo April 18, 08 04:28 PM
  1. Who cares how long the playoffs lasts!! This allows for more quality time at the sports bars and more cervezas.

    Celtics and Lakers-Yea Baby!!!

  1. Who wins a 7 game series between the 1985-86 Celtics and this year`s edition?
    That is one tough call!

  1. Why the **** are the games so spread out!?!

    Posted by joeeymac2000 April 23, 08 02:10 AM
  1. Chris from Atlanta:

    The series is going 4 games, and your team is coming up on the short end of the stick. Bibby went, what....2 for 10 in game one?? He's toast. Sorry....too many weapons and too much resiliency for the Hawks to handle.

    I just moved to the Atlanta area in October, but I'll be Forever Green.

    Later..

  1. Hey Boston,

    AS I SAID, Come on down to the Dirty and take us lightly! All that talk about sweeping, PLEASE! So much for that plan. What's wrong with Paul Pierce? looks like he got offended. AWW, is Al Horford AKA (rookie of the year) not respecting your All Stars? Did you enjoy watching young Josh Smith dunking on your All Stars? Also, as I said, enjoy this year because our young athletic ATL Hawks + Big man next year = NEW MONSTER IN THE EAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Posted by Chris April 27, 08 11:58 PM
  1. Hey Boston,

    This series is going 4 games, hon? to many weapons, to much resiliency, 2 weeks to finish a 4 game sweep! PLEASEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Repeat after me (YOUNG, ATHLETIC and TOO MUCH AL HORFORD) Better known as Rookie of the year. Also, what the heck was the sign from Paul Pierce? I call it frustration, fear, not knowing how to act when getting beaten up by a young lion! KG getting dunked on! Sam Cassell choking! Where was the great Rondo? And remember this (Doc Rivers best days will always be when he played for ATL).
    Really though, you guys MAY still win this series. You do have home court advantage! If so, enjoy it! It will be your last chance! NOW do you believe what i said before? these highly talented YOUNG, ATHLETIC ATL Hawks + Big man next year = NEW MONSTER IN THE EAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. I'm mad as hell and not going to take it anymore.
    We live in Pacifica outside SF, Ca. and the Mrs is from Framingham.
    Boston's our home away from home.
    Last night's fiasco was worse than Sundays.
    Here's the game in a nutshell....Charity Stripe: Hawks__29/33 for 87.9%
    Celts __10/18 for 55.6%
    The refs suck.......

  1. My best days were when I played at Marquette for Hank Raymonds. I hate Atlanta. I'm glad I'm in Boston although I'd rather be back in Milwaukee so I can follow the Packers and the next great QB Brian Brohm. Brohm will take over for Aaron Rodgers when that delicate flower gets hurt going to the bathroom in the middle of the night. TT will regret running Brett Favre out of Green Bay when he can still play in pre-season and in blowouts.

  1. 41.9 is an important # to remember......why?....It led the 2007 Season!
    41.9 is the Celtic opponent's FGM % average for this season!
    When the Celts produce that # they always win!
    Games #1&2.................................Hawks shot 38.2 & 38.3
    Games #3&4.................................Hawks shot 47.4 & 47.8
    Game #5 ......................................Hawks shot 40.6
    Hold Atlanta to below 41.9% and Boston wins every time even if their shots aren't falling!............................BY THE WAY........................
    ~~~~~~~~~DEFENSE DOES WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS~~~~~~~~~~~
    And finally Hawkers, 41.9 is not age in years old as you've alluded to .....Good luck on Friday.....you'll be needing it! Who's old now?
    Posted by FrancoBeck May 1, 08 01:57 AM
  1. the hawks are done. time to go fishin'!
  1. Nurse Rivers once again fails to make it out of the first round!! Worse NBA playoff COLLAPSE IN THE HISTORY OF THE NBA!!!
    Posted by Adriano May 3, 08 12:02 AM
  1. Three things
    1. Ref's suck and kept this game close enough for Atlanta to make a comeback (don't trust NBA ref's anymore- they cheat too so why isn't anyone talking about them and the NBA like they do the Pats?)
    2. Coaching - Doc is a moron and has been out coached by another moron with half the team he has. Granted Atlanta is young, vibrant, talented and aggressive, they are still not the Boston Celtics. Another thing, I've been a Paul Pierce basher his entire career but let me say this loud enough for everyone to hear "YOU WILL NOT WIN THIS SERIES WITHOUT PIERCE DELIVERING SO GIVE HIM THE EFFIN BALL AND MAKE PLAYS AROUND HIM!!!" Rondo thinks he's better than he is and takes way to many chances and commits too many turnovers. Also, he has the wonderful ability of killing the flow of the game for the Celts by doing whatever the hell he wants. Pass the ball and get out of the way jerkoff. I know Doc isn't the brightest but I have a hard time believing he wanted Rondo killing the clock and taking the final shot from beyond the ark. Didn’t happen. Rondo wishes he had half the talent that’s sitting on Atlanta’s bench when the game starts.
    3. Does anyone really expect the Celts to play this poorly on the road and still compete for a championship? Not going to happen people. The West is tough enough as it is and they are truely struggling to get out of the first round against an 8 seed. Detriot and the Cav's will eat this team alive IF they win and Doc Rivers will and should be coaching some rec team in Orlando or somewhere. Maybe they'll bring in someone who'll coach this team and not be coached by these players who think the NBA should've given them the trophy at the conclusion of the reg season. It's obvious these guys dont listen to a damn word Doc says by the look on his face after he calls a play and they do whatever they feel like instead.
    All this said, Atlanta will beat us Sunday and they deserve the right to move on because they’ve played as a team and listened to their coach. Nothing more than that. Well, except for the fact the Celts and Doc look like they’re looking down the barrel of a gun every 4th quarter.
    Posted by no heart May 3, 08 01:13 AM
  1. Im sure the celts will win.,... its quite ironic that the best team in the reg season had the most difficult series....
  1. Again the refs served up home cook’n!
    Hawks shot 36/47 (76.7%) last night..their season avg.
    Celts went 20/25
    47 to 25 ain’t even close!
    Sunday, of course, they will dish out more home cook’n…
    This has been an unusually tough series for the Celts on the road...
    The Hawks have been allowed to get dirty and rough w/o penalty ! When the Celts dish it out in return...POW...
    Enough's enough...! Let them play w/o the refs manipulating the outcome!
    Posted by FrancoBeck May 3, 08 01:50 PM
  1. No doubt in my mind. Celts are going down. This is a regular season team..period.
    Posted by Bill Russell the real winner May 4, 08 08:23 AM
  1. haha no doubt in your mind huh...thats a good old classic but whoopin....we're only regular season huh....well yall are neither reg or playoffs hahahahaha....maybe next yr atlanta hahaha
    celtics 17 baby
  1. "47 to 25" makes it difficult to watch these games. Maybe when it comes down to the finals, the three [Tim Donaghy's] will swallow their whistles and allow for fair calls on the road teams. The calls both for home teams and against the road teams in this series were blatant, but the outcome is as it should've been. "Physical, young team"? I guess so, when you can chop the living hell out of every layup [on your home court] and not get called on it. I have no doubt we'll see ATL again next year, way down at the bottom clinging to 8th or 9th seed dust. Suck it losers: by 22, 19, 25 and 34 points on the losses? C'mon, wake up.
