Etc.

ESPN broadcaster Mark Jackson asked a staff member here to get him tickets for the Red Sox games this Monday and Wednesday. Looks like Jackson plans to stay in Boston for a while.

  • Celtics broadcaster Tom Heinsohn gave several Celtics players words of enouragement in the locker room before the game.

Ray Allen, who did not talk to the media at yesterday’s practice, said he slept well last night. Leon Powe, Glen Davis, Kendrick Perkins, and Rajon Rondo all said they slept poorly.

  • Cavaliers forward Ben Wallace has his hair out in an afro today, Detroit-style. It's obviously a big game.

The Cavs will be wearing their red uniforms this afternoon.

  • The mood at the Garden is decidedly lighter than it was for Game 7 against Atlanta. It's almost like everyone here expected to play this game. It's very similar to the mood before Game 5 here against the Cavs.

  • As they did in the Atlanta series, the Celtics watched a tape of Game 6 in their locker room before today's game.

    More to come.
