It's a tie game, 18-18, after first quarter

Posted by Michael Vega, Globe Staff May 16, 2008 08:23 PM

Eddie House knocked down his first basket of the playoffs with 32.4 seconds left in the first quarter of Game 6 to tie the game, 18-18.

This followed a foul-inducing offensive put back by LeBron James that enabled the Cavs to tie it, 14-14. After Joe Smith hit a stop-and-pop jumper to give the home team an 16-14 lead, Paul Pierce answered with a key-top jumper that tied it, 16-16.

A pair of LeBron foul shots made it 18-16, but House, in the game for Ray Allen, knocked down his jumper from the left corner to tie it after one, 18-18.
