BIRMINGHAM, Mich. -- One day after defeating the Pistons, 94-80 to take a 2-1 lead in the Eastern Conference Finals, the Celtics opted not to practice today. The team watched film and conducted a walkthrough in preparation of Game 4 tomorrow at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

Celtics coach Doc Rivers said he struggled with the decision but ultimately decided the team could use the rest since it has been playing every other day since April 26, the first round of the playoffs against Atlanta.

"I went back and forth on it all night, and even this morning," Rivers said. "We watched enough film and we walked through two or three things on a taped ballroom floor and at least they can imagine it, and tomorrow we can go over it live."

The mood seemed light among the players as they wrapped up their day. Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen attracted the most media attention while players like Rajon Rondo and Sam Cassell also were in demand.

With the team's first road win out of the way in the playoffs, Pierce said there is no reason to stop.

"We got a road win which is good, but we want to try to get another one," Pierce said. "Detroit plays well in our building so we can't take this opportunity for granted."
