On the road again (again)

Posted by Gary Dzen, Boston.com Staff May 15, 2008 12:22 AM

Here we go again.

The Celtics, still winless on the road in the postseason, give it another shot Friday night in Game 6 at Cleveland.

According to Celtics coach Doc Rivers, they don't plan to change a thing.

“We keep having opportunities to having road wins, so that means we are still alive," said Rivers. "I hate to throw other teams out there, but others aren’t playing well on the road either. I don’t know when we will get one, but we hope it's Game 6. If not we come back here to the Garden and we just keep playing. We won’t change anything. It wont affect us. We just keep playing.”

  1. Kevin Garnett is great at screaming and yelling and pounding his chest when his team is winning by 8-15 points and he is at home. That is really admirable but it is not worth a damn until he can come up in a legitimate situation where a chest pouding is warranted. It is great that he has his own gatorade commercial (which i have noticed is basically not running anymore on the airwaves) but his one contribution to this series, win or lose, will be his incredible poise and stature as he got the basketball slammed through the hoop into his face as LeBron dunked on his sorry a**. I hope the best for the C's but it is just tough to route for such a clear and obvious fraud who keeps getting a pass from the local and national media.

  1. Hah.. the title for this post reminds me of the Bob Seger song:

Say, here I am, on the road again. there I am, up on the STAGE.
Here I go, PLAYING STAR again.
There I go, TURN THE PAGE.

For pete sakes.. Turn the damn page already! hell finish the book!

  1. Doc is a puppet. Before he got this roster he was an awful coach, now that he has this roster he is an awful coach, and once this roster is eventually disassembled (next year will be the season that two of the Big Three get injured - it's bound to happen) he's going to be an awful manager. That is a glaring weakness this late in the year.

  1. sod off all you boston haters, first of all kg has evry right to pound his chest, wheneva he wants wat r u his mom?

second of all, lebron may have gotten the dunk, but he was cold for most of the series, game 5 being the only time he scored 25+ points.

3rd, i do agree he needs to rotate in pose, and powe more, but not so much of eddie house unless we need a 3 point shooter. the veterans need more love too, i think if sam and brown can get into a groove, instead of being ice, then he wud rotate them in more. I don't agree with you that big baby and the vets shud get less time altho powe and pose shud be considered b4 doc even thinks about the vets.

4th Doc is a great coach, he just never had talent as good as this. The biggest talent he had was T-Mac in orlando, and we all kno about the T-Mac First Round Curse.
